Conditional formatting based on two merged cells content

    Hello,

I have two Merged cells with values Cell B8 = 50, 31, 17, 86, 43 and Cell B10 = 50, 31, 86, 43, 41. Now I need a formula or VBA code to highlight another Cell D8 with Red if there is any one common value in both the cells. In this case, 50 and 31 are matching values. I tried using match but does not worked as the cells are merged.

    Thanks!

Are you saying cells B8 and B10 contain numbers separated by a comma followed by a space? Exactly how you've put that in the description?

Ensure you describe your problem clearly, I have little time available to solve these problems and do not appreciate numerous changes to them.

Yes, right! All I want is while comparing if I find any matching numbers or text, Cell DB should be red, otherwise green.

The fact that the cells are merged is not why MATCH doesn't work. MATCH can't perform a partial match. This can be done easily in VBA, but I don't want to start from scratch. Please attach your file.

    Hi,

I made it work for 2 merged cells separated by comma and a space. Can anyone advise me to expand the code for 4 merged cells instead.

From what you posted, I don't see any reason for merged cells.
