Open txt_file For Input, FROM ONE DRIVE CLOUD

    Hi guys!

Is there a way to read a shared text file hosted on my OneDrive cloud account?
Is there another cloud service that allows this?

    I've tried something like:

Please Login or Register to view this content.
but I get 'Run-time 52: Bad file name or number '

    Thanks a bunch!!
.. and don't forget to have fun!
    Bogdan.

    Hi bulina2k,

You can do what you want, but you first have to map OneDrive to as a Network Drive on your computer. You probably need Administrator privileges. I was successful doing this in Windows 8.1. Each operating system is slightly different. Windows 8.1 might not allow you to map a 'Shared Area' (It is apparently a OneDrive 'feature').

    For Windows 7 or 8.x:

    For Windows 10:

Unfortunately, this is all my OneDrive knowledge. Good luck.

Thank you very much for your answer Lewis
I could do what you suggested but I need to share this file read-only on another (not personal) computer.
I would like that VBA from foreign computers access and read from that file.
    I there a way to share/map a folder readonly?
    Thanks again!

I have no experience with doing what you want.

One Drive can share files read only: https://support.office.com/en-us/art...ad=US&fromAR=1

The above option probably does not let you access the file from VBA unless you can map the file into a path and file name readable on the computer that wants to access the file (Windows computer or other computer).

I'm sorry I wasn't able to help more.
