how to seperate numbers that match 2 numbers from a list.

I will generate lotto numbers in a1,a5 in d1,d5 im going to put in single numbers i want to seperate or call out the entire number into b1,b,? that match 2 of the numbers in d1,d5.

04 07 08 09 29 14
02 07 09 11 13 28
07 10 14 22 29 29
01 04 07 28 35 35

So the outcome in b1,b? would be line 2,4, as the complete number. If the number matches less than 2 or more than 2 they will be discarded.

Ok lets try this how about only highlighting the numbers that match from d1-d5 to the numbers in a1-a5 The numbers 04,14,28,29,35 are the ones in d1-d5 it is showing here they are at the end of the string.

Can you please upload a sample workbook showing some data as the table above is not easy to understand what you mean.

An example of the data and details of what you would expect to be returned from the examples would be useful.

I dont know how to upload to this site i almost have it done. With that said when i finish it hopefully today i will upload the solution as i think it is almost done. I do believe i put this thread in the wrong thread and it should have been in the vba thread as code is now a part of it.

Will you please attach a sample Excel workbook? We are not able to work with or manipulate a picture of one.

1. Make sure that your sample data are REPRESENTATIVE of your real data. The use of unrepresentative data is very frustrating and can lead to long delays in reaching a solution.

2. Make sure that your desired solution is also shown (mock up the results manually).

3. Make sure that all confidential data is removed or replaced with dummy data first (e.g. names, addresses, E-mails, etc.).

4. Try to avoid using merged cells as they cause lots of problems.

Unfortunately the attachment icon doesn't work at the moment, so to attach an Excel file you have to do the following: just before posting, scroll down to Go Advanced and then scroll down to Manage Attachments. Now follow the instructions at the top of that screen.

Please pay particular attention to point 2 (above): without an idea of your intended outcomes, it is often very difficult to offer appropriate advice.
