Need Help removing foreign carachters from spreadsheet csv.

Hello all... I have a long list of names and email addresses from all over the world. I need help removing all of the non English charterers, or changing them to UTF-8 or something. I am trying to import the list into Infusionsoft and cannot because it contains strange characters so needs to be cleaned up. Please help! I have spent so much time trying to figure this out with no luck. THANK YOU!

Please send detailed instructions as I am fairly new to visual editor and macros and functions, etc.

Are you importing a CSV file directly to Infusionsoft or opening the CSV in Excel then importing it?

Hello and thank you for your help... I am really struggling. I am trying to clean up a csv file in Excel to eliminate the foreign characters and other language characters before I do the import to Infusionsoft.

I have names that look like: Dérosha and I need to correct them before import. But the list is like 26000 people and cannot figure out a way to do it all in one swoop.

I downloaded the file and opened it in Notepad. The file format is ANSI. I did not see any special characters. Does this occur when you open the file using Excel?

Yes in Excel... and Infusionsoft says I cannot upload due to foreign characters...

Hello Nate,

Opening the CSV file in Excel worked for me. I scanned the file for any odd characters and found none. It displayed the file in columns A to W and in 22,637 rows.

I don't know of any Excel settings that would cause the problem you are experiencing. Do you have any problems opening any other files or just this one?

I think you should take a look at your system's settings
I directly opened the file in Excel and don't see any strange characters.
