Copy a cell value to the next empty cell above it.

Hey everyone,
I'm trying to see if it's possible to copy a cell value and paste in to the next empty cell above it. For example, if I double click in a range such as A38:A57, I would like to fire a procedure that will take the value of the active cell and then paste it in the next empty cell above in the range, A4:A36. Does anyone have any clue as to how this can be done?

Pasting to the next empty cell below is as easy, but I haven't seen anything that will paste to next above empty cell.
