    Progressive Filter

Hi, I am looking for a macro that would progressive filter a table by the values of the selected column. i.e. At first run it would filter by the first value of the column, at second run by the second value of the column etc.
I found a great solution in this link: http://www.excelforum.com/excel-prog...g-value.html#6
However the main file for which I would use the macro, contains dates and I would like to auto-filter by progressive YEAR_MONTH, (Now the code does not auto-filer even on Day_Month_Year level).
It would be good if the code would automatically recognize the active column without specifying it in VBA.
I attach a simplified file as example, hoping that the macro could progressive filter by September_2105, October_2015, November_2015, December_2015, January_2016, etc.
Many many thanks for your support,
    Kr, estgas

    Re: Progressive Filter

I'm not 100% sure that I understand what you're looking for, but see if the attachment gets you close. I built in a button that will progressively filter through each month while updating F1 to indicate which month is showing. You can ignore F1 to cycle through the months, clear F1 to return to the beginning, or enter a different date in F1 to jump forward or backward in the progression. Here is the procedure used:

Take a look at the attachment to see if it will work for you...

Many thank for the file! Unfortunately when I press the button, it is not filtering the next month: it filters blank rows.
Attached what it showed. (Maybe because of USA vs European dates formats?)
    Kind regards, estgas

    Re: Progressive Filter

I think my use of DateSerial should avoid the USA vs. European date formatting issue, but the original date value in F1 might be misinterpreted. Try deleting the value in F1 and hitting the button. Does it return the data filtered for September? If yes, do subsequent uses of the button work properly?

    Re: Progressive Filter

Hi, it seems that the macro passes the right filter values (beginning and end of the month) but it is missing the filter OK, please see example from first button click:

    Re: Progressive Filter

From the picture, it looks like you're getting the correct filtered results. Is the issue that it's using a custom filter rather than the standard check boxes?
