    Vertical Merge

I am trying to work around an older inventory program that can export the data to excel. I don’t know if this can be solved with a formula or Macro. I am using Office 2010 if that helps.
Within the inventory program, the export cell size can’t be changed so when the data exceeds that predetermined size it creates another cell vertically. I am trying to merge these rather than retype everything.
I am attaching one of the files as an example.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

    Hi Tom

    Welcome to the Forum!!!

Do you need the Header Rows other than the first three rows?
Does the Code need to run in any Excel Version below Excel 2007 (you've attached an .xls File)?

    Re: Vertical Merge

You can't actually Merge cells because you'd only get the contents of the top cell.

You'd probably need to loop through the cells and, if the cell in column B is not blank, store its address. If the cell IS blank, concatenate the cell in column C with the value in cell in column C on the stored row.

Then I'd filter for blanks in column B and delete the visible rows.

That's the process, give or take.

    John,

The Header Rows are not needed lower in the document, that is just how it comes out. I can freeze the top if the list gets too long.
As far as other versions of Excel, that is the version that the inventory program exports in.
