finding and copying the highest number in pivot tables

    Hi guys,

I am using pivot tables and need to find some values and copy them.

    1. Value from N column (though sometimes its M) but what I know for sure it is the last column of the whole table. and I a am copying the highest value (the bottom right corner). How do I find and copy it ?

    2. Second problem I have is in the same column (sometimes M, sometimes N) but its the very right column of the whole pivot table, I need to find 5 biggest values (apart from the biggest which is total value. For each of these values there are other information on the same row. I need to copy info from c, d, g and the m/n accordingly.

I have managed to write quite a long script already but I am still struggling with these two things. Anyone able to help ??

    Thanks!

Re: finding and copying the highest number in pivot tables

This might not take VBA. Depending on how the pivot table is designed, it might just take a named dynamic range. As far as finding the top 5 values, this may help http://www.utteraccess.com/wiki/Firs..._Nth_Occurance. Once you've found them then you could probably use INDEX and MATCH to get the rest of the data.

This is speculation and as far as I can take it without something concrete to look at.

Please attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

    Remember to desensitize the data.

Click on GO ADVANCED and then scroll down to Manage Attachments to open the upload window.
One spreadsheet to rule them all. One spreadsheet to find them. One spreadsheet to bring them all and at corporate, bind them.

A picture is worth a thousand words, but a sample spreadsheet is more likely to be worked on.
