Out of a blue Sucuri is blocking my access

Since no body from the Admin has responded to my request, I am posting it here in the hope that, someone will listen to my plea.

Can some one shade some light on this please?
Why I am suddenly being blocked from accessing this site using IE, but can access it on Fire and Chrome?

    Hi Ford,
    Thanks!
I did post it on the suggestion section (May it was not the right section).
The Sucuri admin told me that my IP has been blocked by the owner of the site.

Re: Out of a blue Sucuri is blocking my access

    Hi Buran,
    I have no idea!
I have not changed anything on my IE's set-up. When I tried to access the site, I have got the blocked message from Sucuri. I then tried FF and Chrome and managed to log-in. I contacted the Sucuri admin and was told my IP was blocked by the owner of the site.
Today, the site was down all morning, except on few occasions. I do not know if it is only me. May be the owner does not want me on this site

Hi AB. Yesterday I also received a denial of access to the site when I tried to answer in one of the topics. Incidentally, I discovered that my Windows Defender is disabled (Win 10). I turned on the protection and the site became available.
    Perhaps this will help.

Re: Out of a blue Sucuri is blocking my access

    Hi Ford,
I am now experiencing accessing the site using Chrome and FF. I thought the site was down, but it is only me.

Alan is experiencing the same issue with Scurri.

I know you are doing your best. Perhaps I need to take a break from the site.

    Hi Nilem,
What is Windows Defender and how and where do I enable it?

Re: Out of a blue Sucuri is blocking my access since some time this morning

As AB33 said, I noticed the problem with Internet Explorer this morning. ( I checked yesterday at the time that AB33 had the problem and it was fine on internet Explorer at that time for me )
    Google Chrome is fine.
Here for info. I posted some screen shots.

Re: Out of a blue Sucuri is blocking my access

    Hi Alan,
    You are right!
    I too have experimented.
As soon as I remove excel forum from compatibility mode, Sucuri has disappeared and managed to log-in. When I tried to open a file, the file is downloaded with extension. I then tried to put excel forum back in to compatibility mode, the Sucuri block is back and unable to log-in.
I am now "between a rock and a hard place".
I am at loss, why do people have to got through this pain.

    Hi AB33
    Thanks for the Rep thingy_..
    -.. just to confirm
You are now not in compatibility mode in Internet Explorer, and
    - you can log-in in Internet Explorer, correct ?
    and
    - downloads come down with the correct extension , correct?
    _.._______

Is there any reason why you need compatibility mode? - I thought most people only put Excel Forum in compatibility mode to get over the extension problem ( which appears now no longer to be there )

The reason for including the compatibility mode is to download an attachment with out file extension. I can live with file extension, but when I download an excel file, I get a php file, instead of XLS, so I am forced to include it.
What I am intrigued by is why are only few members have this issue? The teki team are not in hurry as usual.

Re: Out of a blue Sucuri is blocking my access

    Ahh
    I understand.. strange..
Your situation is different from mine.
Previously I needed the compatibility mode for getting the correct extension, as you posssibly still do (. You cannot check that as with compatibility mode you cannot get access ). Without compatibility mode you can get access but files download with the wrong extension.

That is no longer the case for me.
With compatibility mode I cannot acccesss the site.
Without copatibility mode I have access AND Files download with the correct extension.

But I guess it will all change tomorrow anyway when they have another little fiddle with themselves.

"Without compatibility mode I have access AND Files download with the correct extension"
My main concern is that in few days, the download files will be php, not XLS, as I had experienced in the past. I will then back to square one.

Sucuri is blocking access with IE?-Take EF out of compatibility mode and all is well :)

    Hi Ford
The main issue is Solved: for AB33 ...”.....
    https://www.excelforum.com/excel-pro...ml#post4624139
..... I have access AND Files download with the correct extension....”

Just to confirm: AB33 has now access ( and file downloads are now working in Internet Explorer without the need of the work around of having to have ExcelForum in compatibility mode )
He is a bit concerned that something may occur again and we are curious as to what happened... but I expect the Tech Team are not sure themselves and may have been, and will continue to, experiment.

    ( See also this Thread https://www.excelforum.com/suggestio...ml#post4623993 )

One outstanding issue I can think of: Members who changed to compatibility mode in order to get downloaded files to come down with the correct extension may now find, as I did , that they have access problems. So I expect this will come up again over the next few days...

Once again the solution currently to access problems in Internet Explorer is NOT to have ExcelForum in compatibility mode. ( Of course this may change , should the Tech Team have another Fiddle ... LOL...  )

    Alan
