a few days ago i asked a question about list look up but now i want to say your answer was good but it is not what i was looking for:
imagine you have a list that consists of one thousand student's informations (name, phone number,id number,university code number,home number)
in another sheet i want to use this list as my database to ad other information to this list such as job,score, number of children,birthday date ,etc.
and the user of the excel sheet be free to select a student by entering one of the data that we have for a student in previous sheet (name, phone number,id number,university code number,home number)
ex:
if he entered name all information of a student appear in that row;
if he entered phone number all information of a student appear in that row
if he entered id number all informotaions of a student appear in that row;
lookup doesn't work because we cant enter both value and formula in one cell.
helper row makes the situation difficult for the user
this program is useful when you forgot all information except one thing
