VBA code to specify the Hyperlink base box

By default, unspecified paths to hyperlink destination files are in relation to the location of the active workbook. Use the following procedure when you want to set a different default path. Each time that you create a hyperlink to a file in that location, you have to specify only the file name, not the path, in the Insert Hyperlink dialog box.
    1. Click File > Info.
    2. Click the Properties arrow, and then click Advanced Properties.
    3. Click the Summary tab.
In the Hyperlink base box, type the path that you want to use.

The above description documents a manual procedure; I'm hoping that someone can tell me how to accomplish the same task in VBA macro code.

Thanks in advance for the support and assistance.

Re: VBA code to specify the Hyperlink base box

That dis not work and neither did this:

    1. Select the File tab and then select Options.
    2. In the Excel Options dialog, select Proofing and then select AutoCorrect Options.
    3. In the AutoCorrect dialog, select the AutoFormat As You Type tab.
    4. Clear the check box for Internet and network paths with hyperlinks.
    5. Select OK to close the AutoCorrect dialog.
    6. Select OK to close the Excel Options dialog.

It seems that on any network shared drive Excel spreadsheets formats hyperlinks in absolute format instead of relative format (despite all of the above). Does anyone have any idea what the cause is and what can be done to force relative format ? Thanks again.
