Custom Groups and Macros

Hi

Excuse the daft question, but I have created custom groups in the ribbon which runs series of macros. Not a problem. However, when I copy the spreadsheet (to save a backup version as I go) it runs the macros from the original sheet, and executes those macros on the original sheet. Without deleting the groups and re-creating each time, what am I doing wrong ?

I am a bit of a VBA dork, but manage to somehow muddle along

Probably those macros are set to run on the original book - what do they look like?

i haven't knowingly attached them to a particular spreadsheet, they work fine if I run them from the macro tab, or from within the vba. I cannot seem to be able to edit the link from the group to the macro, looks to me if I have not set them up correctly in the first place

How do I do that ? The spreadsheet is largish, with umpteen macros, and don't want to attach the entire spreadsheet, as it contains all my finances including account numbers etc

Just cut and paste one of the relevant codes - we don't (we shouldn't) need to see the actual sheet.

I don't know how to do that. I can see the reference when hovering the tab in "customize ribbons", but apart from a screen dump, cannot fathom how to access it.

I've got the developer tab on my ribbon - but, even if you don't then one of the tabs should display macros.

I suggest that you add the developer tab to your ribbon. I just don't remember where they (the macros) are otherwise

Thanks for the help. It has got me beat, so will delete and run everything from the vba
