insert a new column based on conditions

hi

i would like an excel macro that would insert a new column to the left of the selected cell only if its not blank for ex,

if i'm selecting cell A1 and cell B1 is blank then it should do nothing, if cell B1 has data in it then it should insert a new column in between column A and column B

I would also like that if it needs to insert a column, it should make sure that the column inserted is formatted as general not as text or any other format
