Hi,
I just created a new measure in PowerPivot (Excel 2010) and after refreshing my pivot table, the measure still does not appear in the field list. Any ideas on what could be causing this?
Thanks!

Attach a sample workbook to see if it will disappear on another version
Remember to desensitize the data.
Click on GO ADVANCED and then scroll down to Manage Attachments to open the upload window.
I couldn't come up with a good way to sanitize the data. However, I think I figured it out. Not sure if this is an issue with just Excel 2010, but in order for measures to show up, the pivot table has to be created by going under the PowerPivot ribbon and selecting it there (as opposed to the Insert ribbon or the "Summarize with PivotTable" option under the Design ribbon for the data table). Doing it this way apparently links the pivot table to the data model instead of the data table because anytime I update the data table, I have to go into the data model to refresh that first before the changes are reflected as part of a refresh in the pivot table.
Every PT or PPT should be refreshed if source data was changed.
You can tick this option:
ptrefresh.jpg
to be sure your PPT will be updated.
but in the meantime, without closing and reopening file you can refresh PPT manually or use VBA Change_event (or something like that) to refresh PPT automatically everytime when you will change source table.
You don't need refresh DataModel then PPT, enough PPT

btw. create PPT with data model from dummy data is very simple.
and saw measure immediately in PPT
I did it without any problem with privacy.
