Putting text in one cell in alpabetical order

This has been driving me crazy. I am working on a pretty large spreadsheet that deals with survey responses from our organizations in different states, with simple yes and no answers. In the last column, we have a list of every state that responded with YES, and the list is comma delimited. The only problem is that list needs to be in alphabetical order, and it is a list of 39 states, that varies from cell to cell, for 250 cells. It will take me forever to do this manually. I have heard of a macro that might be able to sort text alphabetically within a cell, does anyone have any suggestions that could help me out? Much appreciated!!!!
