    Pivot Tables and Slicers

    Hello.

There is a report that currently is being used in my company that has 3 pivots and a few slicers in the main page. Whenever I modify the slicers, they alter the pivots as well.
I'm trying to do that with VBA, I can do the pivot, and the slicers, but the slicers modify the data page where they come from, not the pivot.

I've been trying to link them to the pivots, my process so far has been creating the pivot by VBA and then try to add the slicers but somehow (I don't understand why) the slicer option is disabled, and if trying to code it, it shows errors.

    Any help will be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

    Re: Pivot Tables and Slicers

Can you attach a sample workbook with sample non-sensitive data? The answer may have to do with the Slicer Options and how they are linked to the pivot tables.
One spreadsheet to rule them all. One spreadsheet to find them. One spreadsheet to bring them all and at corporate, bind them.

A picture is worth a thousand words, but a sample spreadsheet is more likely to be worked on.

Hi, sorry I just saw the reply
I attach a Dummy Workbook with the sample data and in the Pivot sheet there's an example of what I want to do with VBA.

Let me know if you need anything else.

My apologies. This somehow slipped off my plate or I missed the response. Everything seems to be working. I don't understand what you mean by "the slicers modify the data page where they come from, not the pivot."

The pivot table (There is only one) changes with the slicers but the data remains the same.

    Re: Pivot Tables and Slicers

    I'll explain myself:

I have the data sheet (the result of my query)
From that, I create the pivot table in a new sheet.
With the VBA I can't create any slicers. Manually I'm able to create them but they alter the data sheet, not the pivot sheet.
Other approach was creating slicers by VBA before the pivot. Just by saying that you can assume they work on the data sheet only.

I need the slicers to alter the pivot filters.
In my original report (made 100% manually) the slicers when selected filter the pivot tables properly.

    Re: Pivot Tables and Slicers

Either I am still not getting it or I'm not able to duplicate the issue. The slicers on the report you sent me do update the pivot table and not the data.

I do notice that you had the good sense to put your data into an Excel table. This means that nothing (except possibly a refresh) is needed on the pivot table or the slicers when new data is put in the table. You can leave the existing pivot table in place; it will "adapt" since it is pointing to a table.

Also I did not notice a connection in the workbook. Do you know that you could probably import the data directly into the workbook from the database without having to copy / paste?
