    Using Pass-Through Queries in VBA?

Here is the code I am working with:

I am needing to pull a pass-through query from MS Access, but I cannot find a good answer. I have done some research regarding this, but I cannot find any solutions that have simple enough code. In other words, everyone who has provided an answer was in regards to someone else's code which was too much to sift through to see why it worked. Also, I saw a lot of people were using .DAO which confuses me compared to .ADODB. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks.
EDIT: I am using QODBC Driver so I don't know if the connection string would make any difference. I get an error "Malformed GUID in expression".

Maybe the type of brackets "{}" ... and this 'fn' ... (?) ... and this """InvoiceLineDesc""" / InvoiceLineDesc ... "InvoiceLineDesc" <> InvoiceLineDesc ... (InvoiceLineDesc = [InvoiceLineDesc] = column in the table, while "InvoiceLineDesc" is text).

I'm sure I get the Malformed GUID error from the special characters and that is why I need to pull this query as a pass-through query which leads to the title of this thread. VBA reads that string perfectly (being the malformed guid error). It just doesn't recognize the function because of it needing to be a pass-through query.
