Best Way To Run A Macro From Webpage?

What would be the best way to run a Macro from a webpage?

I'm close to completing a Macro that I have built for my own personal use but it occurred to me it may be of use to others to run the Macro from a webpage. However I do not want to share the Macro in the way that it works so I thought I could have some basic input boxes/ fields (what ever is the right term), the user could upload their specs then click calculate and the macro would run, hidden from the user.

Possibly in the future (if I manage to get it working from a webpage) I could then also start to look into boundary representation (think that's the right term) and could also graphically display the information (which would be a positive thing). It's not graphs or anything like that; it's engineering information and I'd like to display a drawing/ drawings generated; but this is a topic for another day and most likely another forum.

Back to my query for now - brief searches indicate that ASP may be the way forward?
I know it would be best to rewrite in another web-page language that's specific for this kind of thing, but I've already spent far too long developing this macro and it's a little side project.

    Hi Dal123,
I am not sure if I understand your request. Microsoft has not even managed to run macro from a browse. It has been developing web scripting for the last 4 or so. Google spreadsheet might close to what you are after. Out side MS, your best bet is "Python".

Re: Best Way To Run A Macro From Webpage?

Hi AB33, thanks for your response bud, and apologies in my belated thank you and if I was unclear in my OP. To clarify what I mean is I've already done (well almost) completed building a Macro.

My plan was for people to be able to go on a website, pay to use the macro. They would enter data, onto a spreadsheet/ or through html forms/ whatever and they could then call the Macro (stored somewhere on a server) to run and do all the hard work.

EASA http://easasoftware.com/video-deploy...b-application/ seem to have developed a product which converts the Macro to an SQL application which is easily deployed onto a website, spreadsheet and the incorporation of the Macro. Though I'd imagine there wouldn't be a way of hiding the SQL code, thus the product would be stolen immediately.

I'm still completing the Macro, but I thought I'd explore if it was possible to host on a website as I've put so much work in to it (which says nothing to the complexity of the Macro; only to the limitations of myself ).

    Hi Dal123,
It is not clear to me what language or platform used to display excel in to a web. I do not have any experience in this area. Kyle123 is the most experienced person and I hope he joins the thread.

My gut feeling is if it is so easy as the website makes it, why MS has not discovered it? MS on-line and cloud office applications do not have or use VBA.
