Conditional Formatting Reset

    I want to

    1. Keep/Record the current conditional formatting I have applied (all formulas, rules and most importantly the cells they apply to)
    2. Clear all Conditional Formatting
    3. Reapply the Conditional Formatting from number 1. above.

    This is to make up for routine copy and pasting which results in duplicated conditional formats. If there is a VBA to do this, i would greatly appreciate the assist!

    Thanks!

    Re: Conditional Formatting Reset

    The easiest way to record a state of Conditional Formatting (CF) is to just make a copy of the original sheet. You could delete the values on the copy if you like. When you're ready to restore CF to the original, copy the CF from the backup and re-apply it the original using Paste Special - Formats.

    The bigger question is; how are you routinely copying and pasting values to the sheet now? There are different methods to do this. Some methods of copy\paste will also paste formatting. Others will paste only the values and leave the original CF intact. Are you familiar with Paste Special Values?

    On the Home tab, in the Clipboard group, click Paste Button image , and then click Paste Values.

    -OR-

    Press Ctrl+Alt+V. This displays the Paste Special dialog box.

    Surround your VBA code with CODE tags e.g.;
your VBA code here
The # button in the forum editor will apply CODE tags around your selected text.

    Re: Conditional Formatting Reset

    Thanks for the suggestions, but I want a macro that does this for myriad more reasons outside the scope of my above request. Maybe there is a macro to record the current CFs? if that was the case, I could just clear them and reapply that macro.
