External data from remote connection?

Hello kind people!

I have Windows remote connection to server: blablabla-chicago.gotdns.org:12345 user: wind

Then, i have to log into program on that server(user: calm pass: 54321), probably that program is based on sql, don't know.

How can i get data in excel from that program on remote server?


I have latest Office2013 and PowerQuerry

you can try Data - New Query - From Database (choose one) or From Other Sources (choose one)

My in app credentials are: calm pass:54321
App is probably based on sql. I have limited access to server, only to application.

So let's sum up a little bit.

I have a connection to remote server(desktop) address is: blablabla-chicago.gotdns.org:12345
User is: wind

On that remote server i have access to a application(program) as: calm pass:somepassword
So i assume that app is sql based.

First i need to discover database of that application to find their names

You can't do this with Excel

with your data I assume you need to know database name (and pass if necessary but probably not)
then use Excel on this server (if exist)

Yes, i thought so.
It can only if server is local. This is remote server i don't know database names, i only have access to application not server(PC) entirely.
