Using Checkboxes to filter matching data from database.

Hello all, I am using checkboxes to parse data out of a database. Right now, I have got it working - however, my goal is to dynamically set other checkboxes to checked, unchecked, or mixed based on the selection of other boxes. I would love to provide an example, but the nature of the work is not something I can give access to. I could go into more detail on how it works, but before I waste my breath - what would be the easiest way to help give you guys a good picture of what I am trying to do?
