column A has the wards audited
columns B-A0 have the answers to the survey Questions in the form of Y N N/A and Unknown

Will you please attach a SMALL sample Excel workbook (10-20 rows of data is usually enough)? Please don't attach a picture of one (no-one will want to re-type all your stuff before starting).
1. Make sure that your sample data are truly REPRESENTATIVE of your real data. The use of unrepresentative data is very frustrating and can lead to long delays in reaching a solution.
2. Make sure that your desired solution is also shown (mock up the results manually).
3. Make sure that all confidential information is removed first!!
4. Try to avoid using merged cells. They cause lots of problems!
Unfortunately the attachment icon doesn't work at the moment. So, to attach an Excel file you have to do the following: Just before posting, scroll down to Go Advanced and then scroll down to Manage Attachments. Now follow the instructions at the top of that screen.

No help was offered. In my view, it is unwelcoming to request a change, to wait for that change to be made, and then ask for a sample sheet. It is far better to get the OP to do both at once.
Sorry, Glenn - my comment was really for the OP so that he/she understands that the help will not come until the cross-post issue is addressed, but that adding an attachment would be a good idea. My wording did not quite reflect that - sorry.

I could not follow the path to the mrexcel site so I have no idea whether or not this question has been answered, however if I understand correctly the following formulas should yield the desired results (although they are not even close to what was originally given).
For column B: =COUNTIFS(Table1[Ward],A4)/COUNTA(Table1[Ward])

thanks for getting back ... yes the sheet had evolved a bit. since the first question. I was looking for a vba macro.
I need to make the results as a percentage without counting the n/a and no answers then graph everything.
I cant do this as a pivot table as it just does not give results sadly
