Need a reference for troubleshooting sql inside vba

Folks, when I jump off the deep end I should wear a life jacket. I have an SQL (MS SQL SERVER I THINK) that was provided by the vendor at my request. Normally all I have had to do was provide the connection string and wrap the code as shown below. But for some reason this comes up with a Scalar Error. I screenshot the tip shown in the debug window. That allowed me to find the line of SQL (which I put **** next to in the code and I can't find anything wrong. I would love to learn how to troubleshoot this. All advice appreciated. Thanks for reading.

I'm scared now. Normally this forum is blazing fast. This must be tougher than I thought.
Anyone have an idea of another forum or resource that this question/discussion would be appropriate in?

The line before the highlighted line is SQL = ""
you could try removing that as it would have the effect of deleting all the SQL, to this point, and restarting from the highlighted line.

After your initial urgency, there seems to be a lack of activity on this thread.
Perhaps you could update it so I don't need to keep checking back here.
