need help with an assignment

Hi,

I need to make a crossword in excel to pass this term and i have no idea where to start as i don't know any programming.

what i need to do is:
- make a macro that copies the "master" crossword template to a new sheet (done that)
- share the worksheet for multiple users (done that)
- require user name login to access the workbook
- admin account has access to everything
- add new users that auto create a new worksheet of the template
- lock specific users to their own worksheet
- make it so users can only see their own worksheet + the master template + "last weeks" crossword

i have no idea where to start with coding macros. i have never learnt any kind of programing

Nothing is more frustrating than to be working on homework and to get stuck. Without guidance, you might have no hope of finishing the assignment before the deadline. I have tried to follow several guides google has offered me and i just end up more confused.

(I was going to post an example but i'm not allowed to post links)

My "coding" limits are writing bash scripts and scripting cisco switches and routers.

I don't even know why this is in my course as its a diploma of systems administration, not programming.

I can usually read other peoples code and roughly work out what they are trying to do but that's not helping me here.

at this point i'm looking at failing the year just becasue of this one tiny part and the teacher (who has a programming background) just tells me its easy and that i don't even have to write any code.

so far having no luck at finding built in features that can do these things.

In the mean time, can you provide the file with what you have so far please?
To attach a file to your post,
click advanced (next to quick post),
scroll down until you see "manage file",
click that and select "add files" (top right corner).
click "select files" find your file, click "open" click "upload" click 'done" bottom right. click "submit reply"

Once the upload is completed the file name will appear below the input boxes in this window.
You can then close the window to return to the new post screen.

i think all i have to do left is find a way to hide all sheets on workbook open, then open specific work books when people log in
