    showdataform for predetermined selection

    Good morning all,

This is driving me mad now, i would like my macro to select my table (named "april") and then open the Data Form to aid simple user input.

    However it's ignoring the selection.

Unless the table is a range named Database, or in the top left corner (A1:B3 if I remember correctly), showdataform will not work. Assuming your table is not in the correct location, I suggest you define a name called Database, and adjust it to whichever table you want to use the data form with. Or build your own userform.

    Thanks for the prompt response!

Oh right, so does that mean i can only use 1 table per sheet if i want to do it this way?

I know i could use user forms but i dont know how to create it as a data entry form.

    Many thanks again.

Top left hand corner of table needs to be A1 or named range Database

so your macro will consist of change what named range database actually refers to

    Good morning bonse

Consider using John Walkenbach's free Enhanced DataForm add-in to use a "one size fits all" ready made data entry form.
You can download it from here : http://spreadsheetpage.com/index.php/dataform/home

    something like this
you will need a named range called "database" (doesnt matter what it refers to) already on worksheet for this to work

You actually don't need a pre-existing name, you could just use:

    Thats fantastic thank you.

I notice when i fill it in it purely replaces the top line of the table is there anyway to make the form insert a new row for each line of data?

Also, another question for you seeing as you're clearly very smart; do you know how i can show/hide rows on a toggle button for all rows that have a table in it? (table name "april")

    Thanks again!
