How to duplicate rule for condition formating

    Hello to Everybody!

I want to create small analog of Gantt diagram:
    1) fill cells in green by rule =(N$1>=$D4)*(N$1<=$E4), where column D is start value and E end value
    2) fill cells in red by rule =(N$1>=$F4)*(N$1<=$G4), where column F is start value and G end value
    3) fill cells in blue by rule =(N$1>=$H4)*(N$1<=$I4), where column H is start value and I end value

I want to copy this rules with the same colors, but start and end column should be changed respectively:
    1) fill cells in green by rule =(N$1>=$H4)*(N$1<=$I4), where column H is start value and I end value
    2) fill cells in red by rule =(N$1>=$G4)*(N$1<=$K4), where column J is start value and K end value
    3) fill cells in blue by rule =(N$1>=$L4)*(N$1<=$M4), where column L is start value and M end value

The problem is that there can be a lot of sets of such rules, and I did not want to create all the rules manually. Is it possible to automate this process?

More details and comments you will find in attached file.

I would be grateful for any help.

    Best Regards,
    Igor

One way to "clone" a rule is to use the format painter (brush icon). If you select a cell, click on the brush and select a second cell and click on the brush, all the formatting of the first cell (including conditional formatting) will be copied to the second cell. Just be careful to make sure you use absolute and relative addressing in your rules where needed.
One spreadsheet to rule them all. One spreadsheet to find them. One spreadsheet to bring them all and at corporate, bind them.

A picture is worth a thousand words, but a sample spreadsheet is more likely to be worked on.
