multiple slicer selections

Hi,

I'm trying to work out how I can enable users to select two filter options in a slicer without having to hold down Ctrl key for each selection.

My slicer is a list of areas and I need the 'national' option to always be selected and people then choose an additional second area to filter by.

I'm using Excel 2010 on a PC not a MAC. I've been informed by someone in the pivot forum on this site that in Excel 2016 there is a multi selection option at the top of the slicer pane but this doesn't exist in the 2010 version.

Does anyone have any code that could help me??

I'm a basic pivot table user and absolute novice with VBA so please word your answers at dummy level so I can follow!

this is how they force people to keep "upgrading" versions, implementing new things which is not available on the old

i dont think you can do what your asking even in VBA ...well not simply
i see you are due to for upgrade soon, can only suggest to ride it out until then

its not like the option doesn't exist....either use CTRL on slicer or let users do it on the filter in pivot table itself
or potentially redesign your pivot to do predefined groups which sounds like a better option for you anyway
