Can I mask password input string?

    Hi folks

I am using the following extract of code to allow a user to enter a password.
Please Login or Register to view this content.
I know its only a part of a line, the rest is not important at present.

The pop up for the password entry means that as I type a password the whole password is visible and not masked with asterix or dots.

Is there a way to mask the input entry?

For example, I have a password on the VBA code. When I enter the code it is masked.

    Hope that makes sense?

    Thank you in advance.

    Hi Ed,

If you do a Google search, "excel vba masked input box", you will find many examples that should help.

On closer inspection it appears I need to use a userform.

As a Mac user I dont like these so the hunt continues!

Re: Can I mask password input string?

As a Mac user, I think you may be out of luck. Your options to do this in Excel are a userform or API calls. Since Microsoft doesn't publish a list of the API calls that you can use in Mac Excel, I can't say if that approach would work, but would suspect it is unlikely. That leaves a userform as the only other option, unless perhaps there is a MacScript that would work - you might be better off in a Mac forum for that.

Thank you for taking the time to reply.

It is fine for now, I know we are retarded by Microsoft as Mac users, you kinda get used to it!
