Excel Tree Diagram from Data Using VBA

    Hello -

I'm looking for a way to generate a tree diagram in excel from data. My ideal would be to have one sheet which has the relationships between items defined with column headers "from" and "to" - this would describe all of the different objects, and relationships between them that I would want in the tree diagram - and one sheet that has the tree diagram on it.

What i'm looking for is a VBA that would use the relational data from the 'data' sheet, to auto-build a tree diagram on the 'tree chart' sheet.

    See attached example workbook.

    Thanks!

    Jacob

    Hello Jacob,

There are quite a few free templates available to produce this type of diagram. If possible you might want to use Word instead of Excel because Word is designed to do this. Anyway, here is a link you can go to and see if there is anything that you like and can use.

    Thank you Leith -

I browsed through the templates. Unfortunatley, I did not see one which auto-builds the tree-chart from data in a table.

    Did I miss one?

    Hello Jacob,

I did not look through all of the templates closely so I cannot say for certain you missed one that does what you want. Did you find any that have an output similar to what you want?
