VBA to merge text from 2 cells into 1

Hello!

I need some code to merge text (forename and surname) from 2 cells into one and then initialise the forename.

For example, I have surnames in column C (i.e Smith) and forenames in column D (i.e John), I then want 'J. Smith' to appear in column E.

My data range is indefinate so I guess the code will have to find the last row.

I already have some code to initalise names (below) but this was from a different project so I'm not sure if it'd work in this context.
