Unhappy Conanceate this simple function to macro .

    Hello all ,

I am hoping to get a simple fast working macro that will work on
a 460K row sheet that can give me the same conanceated results
    I have in col I .

Col I is looking at col AL first then col O if a letter exists .

If no data in col then give answer as in col AL .

Col AL contains text and numbers .

If I can get a macro from this function my next question would be to add a third conan .

    Thanks .

Hi , thanks for that , most works well and very fast but .

In col O all of the 1 2 3 are giving me a date in result , see sheet enclosed with your macro , so im thinking my format is incorrect .
    Thanks .

Re: Conanceate this simple function to macro .

    Hello jindon ,

Thanks for your macro , speed is great and the results are perfect to my request .

I run another macro after your one that gives me all horses previous starts on there own track conditions .
This is only one of many tens of thousands .

When this other macro is run I am getting the results I have in cols BJ:CA
Please ignore cols BJ onwards that have m in the heading , this refers to decimal margins only col AO .

You will see in col O where cells have 1 2 or 3 , that my second macro is giving a date
in cols BJ onwards . Col O cells that have L or J are fine . Not recognising as a date .

I know this conanceate symbol - has an effect .
I already use a full stop for decimal margins with col headings m .

I am guessing is it just a point of replacing - - - - these with something else .
Also getting the little green triangle top left corner in col I results for numbers only .

I hope I have explained properly for you .

    Thanks .

I can not even guess what the other macro is doing from your attachment.

    P.S

I presume you are talking about the code in you thread

    https://www.excelforum.com/excel-pro...nto-macro.html

So, continue there if any problem with that code.
