My VBA script created a password that wasn't the one I specified

Hi all. I wrote the following code and the password in the code is not the password that now locked my book.

How do I get this code to work? Additionally, is there a way I can write something conditional on if the workbook has a password? For instance:

So, you are expecting us to crack "your" password now?

If so, pleas take ANOTHER look at your rules here
https://www.excelforum.com/forum-rul...rum-rules.html

specifically rule 7
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools
3. Click on the star if you think someone helped you

I don't think me asking how to properly set a password on a future workbook is asking to crack a password. Clearly you didn't read my question. I also asked how to conditionally create a new workbook so I don't lock myself out again. Don't be rude and make assumptions when you clearly didn't read what I posted because it was well thought out so that I didn't word it in such a way. Thanks.

You missed out a very important colon: http://excelmatters.com/2013/10/03/whats-in-a-colon/

I was asking, to confirm what your intentions were, instead of just closing this thread. Your post was NOT that clear. Clearly you didn't read my question. Don't be rude and make assumptions when you clearly didn't read what I posted because it was well thought out so that I didn't word it in such a way. Thanks.

“So, you are expecting us to crack "your" password now?” Clearly you need to learn what asking a question is. Accusatory statements with a question mark at the end doesn’t put that sentence under the category of normal questioning. I think this forum needs a less aggressive administrator.
