    Smile A Dynamic User-Input Table?

    Hello

I am wondering if it is possible to make a dynamic table in excel where the user can put in different inputs. I am making an excel dashboard where the user is able to input information for three different scenarios. I'd like that they can input KPIs A,B,C for each different scenario in the same table to save space.

So, When they go to the drop down they can select, "Scenario 1" and the table will be blank for the user to fill in A,B,C. Then they can go back to the drop down and click "Scenario 2" and then again fill in A,B,C. All of the data could actually be stored in a different background calculation excel sheet in the same workbook.

    Is something like this possible?

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advanced!

Why reinvent the wheel? Scenario Manager is native functionality which does exactly as you require.
let Source = #table({"Question","Thread", "User"},{{"Answered","Mark Solved", "Add Reputation"}}) in Source

    Hi Olly,

Thanks for your response! I have actually never heard of Scenario Manager. I'll do some research and come back if I have any questions.

    Re: A Dynamic User-Input Table?

    Hi again,

I want this excel sheet to work like a Dashboard. I would not be the user and I need it to be as user-friendly as possible. I am not sure that having a scenario manager function would help this; especially because I need all of the data stored in a background calculation to feed into multiple charts

It's just... you want to design functionality to make things easy, but you're asking broad questions for help on here... that suggests that your solution will be harder to implement and support, than native functionality. Not trying to pour cold water on your idea, but you might get better support if you ask much more specific questions, once your project is further advanced.

    Re: A Dynamic User-Input Table?

Sorry, but I think there is a misunderstanding. My project is pretty advanced at this point. There are several charts that switch between scenarios for given data sets within the dashboard.

I am only wondering if it is possible to create a dropdown menu (Dropdown1: choose between Scenario 1, Scenario 2, Scenario 3) where you pick "Scenario 1" and then all of the answers you store in cells B2:D5 are stored in a separate sheet (Scenario 1 worksheet). Then, the user can pick "Scenario 2" and all of the answers are cleared and then the new inputs are moved into the Scenario 2 worksheet. Does this make sense?

Scenario Manager seems to be designed for someone who is using their own excel sheet whereas the dashboard I am creating is only going to be used by other users without my help. I do not think that they will just know to go to Scenario Manager to add in their scenarios.

Would it be possible to link the Scenario Manager to a dropdown?
