Filling out blank cells per row in a range with unique names

    Hi all,

I have Sheet2 with names per row from ColA to ColL. Some rows have names in all 12 cells, other rows do not.
I need to fill out all the empty cells per each row up to ColL with names from Sheet1 ColA, with the condition that there will be no duplicates per each row.

I'm attaching an example that displays Sheet1 as the names pool, Sheet2 as the data sheet with blank cells per each row in A-L range, and Sheet3 which displays the desired outcome after filling out empty cells per each row with unique names from Sheet1, so that there's no name repeated in the same row.

Can I get some precious assistance with this question, please?

Always, many thanks in advance ..

    T.

Re: Filling out blank cells per row in a range with unique names

Thank you very much Sintek for such masterpiece code, which ran very fast and smoothly with absolutely no problem.
Nevertheless, I found that the filled out cells have the same names used repeatedly per each column, as per attached file.
In the file, the red names are the original, and the black ones are filled with the code.
You will notice that two or three names only are used to fill out the empty cells as seen by columns, compared to the names in Sheet3 where all the names are used from the pool of Sheet1.
I do hope I made my point clear so that modification of the code would be much easier.

    Please accept my deep gratitude.

    Thank you very much.

Re: Filling out blank cells per row in a range with unique names

    Hi T.

So...It is okay for some of the names to be re-used in rows as long as ...

    1. The row has no duplicates
    2. A larger variety of the pool is made use of?

Or what is the ideal scenario...Shall we randomly select a name from the name pool

Re: Filling out blank cells per row in a range with unique names

    Hi Sintek,
Thank you very much for your, anxiously waited for, replying.
Yes, main condition is not to have any duplicates per row. While randomly choosing from the names pool, there is the probability that names might be contiguously duplicated per column and that is fully accepted, as long as they are randomly selected.
So I think you put the ideal scenario in you two points, but I just elaborated on them.

Once again, thank you very much indeed.
