Search and Populate the data in a single spreadsheet

    Dear All,

I'm looking for a solution to my need.. I've been searching and going through multiple threads but didnt help.

My excel work book will have two sheets named as Search Data and Dumbs...

In the dumb sheet there are 100's of rows available with the below headers.

    Account# Invoice# Inv Date Order # slip#

In Search Data if i enter a account number i need the list of available records to be populated on the search data sheet.

i have attached a sample sheet for your reference, please go through.

Many thanks for your help in advance.

    BR, Safi.

    That one doesn't work.

You need to click on "Go Advanced" below your reply then scroll down to where it says "Manage Attachments" to open the upload window.

Whilst we're waiting for that, a few quick questions on this:
I presume there would/could be more than one record to return for each account number?
If so, are we talking thousands / hundreds / a handful?

How much data will be in the Dumbs sheet overall (roughly)?

Re: Search and Populate the data in a single spreadsheet

Sorry, I believe this time i made it right.

I presume there would/could be more than one record to return for each account number? "Yes there would be multiple records based on the invoice triggered"

Maybe around thousand records in dumps sheet and the maybe a around 10.20 records per account number.

    Hope this helps.

Re: Search and Populate the data in a single spreadsheet

In your Search sheet you've entered two account numbers to return data for.
Is that how you'd use it or is that for demonstration purposes only? i.e. would you really only look up one account number or could there be multiple to extract for?

Reason I ask is I can provide you with a formula solution if only one account number at a time, but can only do a VBA solution if you need to extract for multiple account numbers at the same time.
