Convert/Format Date to Serial Number not Date number.

I'm trying to execute this code but to no avail. I get Run-time error 13 with Type mismatch.

ComboBox9 stores date which has been formatted to "Mmm yyyy" as per

.So I would like to convert it to long date serial number to be able to make a comparison later on.

What am I doing incorrectly here?

What is actually in combobox9 and how is it populated

Richard. Finally I decided to leave the date format as it is and update the serial number to the same format as the one in the form in order to find a match through lookup and that has worked as intended. Much appreciated.
