    use a form to update and extract information from another excel document

    I have 2 excel documents Data and Check.

    I would like to be able to use the forms in the check document to get the information I need without opening the data document

    Once I have that information if I change anything I would like it to update the data document.

    I hope this makes sense

    it can be arranged to be in all one document if I can prove it will work.

    See the attached, is this what you are aiming at.
    I have made some changes to the layout of the 'Data' sheet.
    Un-merged merge cells as these can be bothersome when manipulating with VBA.
    Removed data validation as this is now done at 'form entry' stage, I have left the conditional formatting in place.
    So the 'Data' sheet now acts only as a flat database record.
    You will have to enter your 'issues' and 'checks' to suit your requirements in the respective sheets.
    These two sheets serve to load the combo-boxes they are 'elastic'(you can make additions)
    So each time the UserForm is activated the combo-boxes update.
    Hope this goes someway to what you are trying to achieve.
