Excel Addin on MacOS

Hi there

I am currently using Excel on Microsoft Windows 10 Pro. I have a custom addin (XLAM) made which inserts/deletes/retrieves data from MySQL on a cloud. The DB is SSH access only and so I use putty to create the SSH tunnel. I am now contemplating migrating to Macbook Air and wanted to know if the addin would be compatible with the Excel on MacOS or not? The addin is very crucial to my workflow and so if there is a reasonable risk that the addin will not work, then I cannot move to Mac and I will have to stick with Windows machine only. Thanks...

Without seeing the code it's impossible to say, but I'd suspect that your code will not work.

You can do as Marc suggests though and run Excel in a VM

Yes, but I was hoping to avoid it. But I guess I need to be prepared for it else stick to a windows machine...
