How to give input to pull specific record set

I am using Excel to grab a table on a web page
Date > Get Data > From Other Sources > From Web

The URL of the page is along the lines of
    internalsite/inspection.ext?=11023

"11023" is the ID that calls out the record set that gets stuffed into the table I'm pulling into Excel. I would like to make it easy for standard users of this sheet to enter an ID number so excel can fetch the record they want.

What's the best way (easiest on novice users) to accomplish this?

    THANKS!

    Welcome to the forum

Can't you just sort your records by ID and then scroll to find the record you want?

Or "ctrl-F" to search for the ID?

    Or how about auto-filter?

If none of the above work for you then maybe Excel's "Data Entry Form" capability?

Thanks very much! I figured as many times as I've googled specific excel stuff I should try and find an old school community where people share like back inthe day... this looks like the spot!

Maybe I need to expand on the ID number. It's in the URL telling the web server to run all the db calls then passing said data into the finished web page that makes up the data source for Excel. I can use excel to go to said web page/URL and import the table on that page into the worksheet... so if I wanted to pull the data table for record 11023 I'd put that 11023 at the end of the URL. Next time I want to pull the data table for record 12987 I would have to replace that number 11023 in the data source URL to 12987... clear as mud I hope

OK, I understand you problem a little bit better - enough to say don't bother looking into "Data Entry Forms". I don't think that will help.

I'll think about it a bit further but hopefully someone else with more expertise in this area will jump in.

Yessir the forms wasn't on and I'm wondering if this post might not be better off in the VBA/Programming/Macros forum?

Given that there are no additional replies here then yes, you could have this thread moved to the VBA forum. You need a moderator to do that - don't create a duplicate thread. To get the attention of a moderator, click on "Report Post" and request that the thread be moved.

Thank you to Pepe Le Mokko for moving this thread. I actually reported the post for a move as suggested by Geoff283 many days ago and never received a reply or move, apologies for the cross post, did my best to comply.

    So... bump
