I have a workbook on a mapped drive that serves as a form. When the user hits the submit button it copies information to another workbook on that same mapped drive. Most users access the form via a shortcut on their desktop. I've ran into an issue where they will sometimes get an error because the network drive the actual workbooks are stored in is not connected. (It shows a red X as though it has no connection.) The user must then click on that drive and the red X goes away, and then click the submit button and it works fine. I looked into the red X issue and it's apparently been a problem with Windows for a long time. Unfortunately, there's not much I can do about it because I don't have administrator access to try and fix the actual problem with Windows. What I would like is a macro that will somehow simulate the user clicking on that network drive to remove the red X. This would prevent them from getting these errors and having the inconvenience of clicking on the drive all the time to establish the connection. All internet searches for a solution have not been successful or way too complicated for me to figure out. Any suggestions?
