Pass a value to a web site search box.

    Hi Everyone,

Thanks for letting me join and i would just like to say i am at the start of learning VBA so please be gentle.

My first project i need guidance on is i want to have a macro that when run does the following.

    1) copys text string from a consistent specified cell for eg Cell 'C5' to the clipboard
    2) loads a website in IE
    3) selects the search box
    4) Paste copied data from clipboard into search boc and executes the search.

Steps 1 and 2 i think i can do but i am struggling with the selecting the search box part.

When the search is completed it provides a table of data in the web browser.

Later i would like to then interrogate the results in column 1 for a particular number off the originating spreadsheet and return the data that corrosponds to that number from column 4.

Thank you in advance for any guidance and help you may be able to give me on my learning curve.

    Steve
