Barcode Scanning, adding and removing from 1 list

Hi, I'm Trying to create an Excel sheet for tracking Inventory of asset tags i am just looking for something simple. example would be i click a button, dialog box appears, anything i scan is added to a column, if the same number is scanned again it will remove it from the list. It would not be to much of a problem if i had to click a second button for a removal box instead of using 1 box for adding and removing. is this something that is practical at all in Excel? Thanks.

So far i have learned to create a button to add a value to a line then go to next. i just need one more button to have some type of search and remove macro. is this feasible at all?

I see you haven't got an answer, and I hope it's still useful because I can provide you with one. It's possible to create a simple inventory tracking system in Excel using barcode scanning. You can use VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) to create the button and dialog box code to add and remove items from the list. There are also add-ins and templates available that can make the process easier. But it's even quicker to use sites like smart engines. Just ensure to properly format the column where the asset tags will be added to avoid any issues.

Absolutely! It sounds like you're trying to turn Excel into your very own superhero for tracking asset tags. While Excel isn't known for mind-reading (yet), we can definitely set it up to be your trusty sidekick.
Imagine a button so powerful that with just one click, a magical dialog box appears. You scan your asset tags, and voila, they join the party in a column. But wait, there's more! If an asset tag overstays its welcome and gets scanned again, another click of the button sends it packing, making Excel the ultimate bouncer for your inventory club.
So, is it practical? Absolutely! Excel might not wear a cape, but it can certainly help you conquer your inventory management quest. Give it a try and let the Excel adventures begin!
