This is easily accomplished using Power Query which is available to you if you are running Excel 2010 or later version. Cannot determine from your profile what Office version you are running. Click on the link in my profile on how to use PQ.

Re: merging and consolidating spreadsheets into one

    Hi Alan
    Thank you for your reply.
I using excel v 2010, power query isn't an option , the CSV files are saved in different workbooks...
so I will have workbook 1/workbook2/...workbook20 and each has a table (same number of columns but different data.
would be great to write a script that merge all the 20 workbooks into one workbook(one table)

    cheers again

Actually, Power Query is available to you. Just need to download the free add-in. In addition, what you are trying to do is what PQ was designed to do. If you are willing to watch a few minutes of video, you may save yourself a lot of aggravation and time.

Also, please update your profile to reflect that you are using Office 2010 and not 7 which is a Windows version. This helps us to understand what Excel features we can suggest as well as a valid location as each Excel version is different in different parts of the world.
