Why not just upload your workbook and tell us what you want a macro to do so we can start from first principles.

Show a Before situation and manually add the results you expect to see after a macro has run.

    Hi,

    I attached the test file.

See the macro i record, normally it should say range.select and copy and something is it?

Why it showing differently? and i can not record and re run the macro.

    Thank you,

    Re: Excel Macro Recording gibberish

I didn't ask you what your macro does or doesn't do, it's plain what your macro says.

I asked you to tell us what you WANT your macro to do with whatever data you start with.

This is clearly a trivial example and doesn't represent the size or layout of your actual data. We often find that when we give an answer to what is a trivial non representative example when the solution is used with the real world data it doesn't work because of factors like string length and other stuff which is important but hasn't been mentioned.

Therefore upload your real workbook (or at least a cut down copy), and manually add the results you expect to see. Clearly identify which is original data and which are the results and in a note clearly explain how you have arrived at your results.

One thing you must keep in mind when you ask a question in a forum... the people you are asking to help you know absolutely nothing about your data. Absolutely nothing about how it is laid out in the workbook, absolutely nothing about what you want done with it and absolutely nothing about how whatever it is you want done is to be presented as a result.
You must be very specific about describing each of these areas, in detail, and you should not assume that we will be able to "figure it out" on our own. Remember, you are asking us for help... so help us to be able to help you by providing the information we need to do so, even if that information seems "obvious" to you (remember, it is only obvious to you because of your familiarity with your data).

    Re: Excel Macro Recording gibberish

My question is simple, i am not trying to achieve anything specific with this macro,
what i found that VBA coding when you run a macro is changes.
regardless of any task, i cant complete a simple task with this coding (repeating of .datafields)

its not a task, my excel vba is not working

My question is, is it normal? now the vba codes been updated and look like this.

    Or i have specific problem.

Why i cant record and run a simple macro in my excel. (regardless of any task)

    Re: Excel Macro Recording gibberish

I have never seen the macro recorder capture the sort of code you have shown us.
Neither have I ever known a maco to change its code after you have recorded it.
The only conceivable situation I can imagine that happening is if you have some other macro somewhere which is modifying the VBA code.

You need to tell us exactly what steps you took when capturing it.
By that I mean tell us what you start with and where your Active cell is located.
Then list step by step, key stroke by key stroke, menu / range selection by selection what you are doing.

Better still use one of the many video screen capture applicatons on the web to record your macro

I've found the screencast video recorder useful- see here.

    OK. Thanks

If you're using the application I suggested then just send the link to the file. No need to download the video since I doubt the forum would allow it to be uploaded.

    Re: Excel Macro Recording gibberish

FWIW the only time I've seen behaviour like that was after someone tried to record a macro while still debugging some code and the VBE started behaving very strangely. Have you tried a restart?
