Automatically Sorting a List by Name as New Data is Entered

    Hello
I have attached the sheet i am working on -

    I am looking to -

Transfer the names automatically off of the Registration sheet onto the A-Z sheet and then sort by surname and then first name

But when any new names are added onto the Registration sheet from row 81 onwards - they are automatically added into the list on the A-Z sheet in the correct place.

These sorted names will then go onto the Matrix sheet - across row 1 and down column A (highlighted in yellow) -
Also any new names added to the registration sheet will automatically go into these Matrix sheet lists.

Sorry if this isnt very clear as i am unsure about how to describe it - hopefully someone is able to assist
    Thank you

Re: Automatically Sorting a List by Name as New Data is Entered

    Hi Essxmark
I'm no expert but I think that I had the same problem. I was creating a range of data, and populating a chart but as I added another row of data at the end I had to physically go in and add the data to the chart.
I found that if I convert it to a table and enter a new row of data, that data is absorbed (so to speak) as part of the table and it automatically also was part of the chart
Soooo....Just highlight your whole range of cells and at the top of your page in the insert section click on the table icon and presto chango your range has become a table. after you do this you can change it back by right clicking anywhere in the table and 'Table' will be one of the options...roll over it and you can choose 'Convert to range" if you don't like it...This will bring you back to where you started
Good luck...this saved me a ton of code to write...

If you import the data in the Registration Tab to Power Query, rename the two columns to First and Last. Sort the last name, then sort the first name and then Close and Load to Sheet1. You can rename Sheet 1. Then with any additions to Registration, after completing the data, click on Refresh and the data in the Sheet1 will be automatically updated.

Here is the Mcode and the attached file for review. If unfamiliar with Power Query, click on the two links in my signature for understanding.
