application.displayalerts false not working in ThisWorkbook

Dear Users,


I need to have a code in the "ThisWorkbook" object so that runs each time the file is opened.

I does some procedures in the same workbook and then opens another workbook and collects data from that.

In order to have that automated I would need to switch application.displayalerts to false.

till now I had no problem with that but that is the first time I have it in "ThisWorkbook" .

I tried to investigate and it has to be with get and let (property?)...


can anyone tell me why the code gets stuck right at the beginning at displayalerts?
