TimeStamp VBA code not Working on Office 365

    Hello Experts,

I was having some issues with the code created to stamp the exact time when the first input was made until the last input and show updated timestamp.

As an example, I set a tbl_range to Range("A2:C5"). When I enter anything on Cell A2, the first timestamp should be recorded on Cell D2, then any following inputs should record the update time in Cell E2.

I am currently using office 365.

    here's my code:

I figured that this code works fine with other PC - now the question is what's with that PC's excel setting that is not properly setup on mine?

    Does anyone encounter that too?

    Hi there,

Many of the contributors here are pretty good at Excel, but (like most of the population) we're almost useless when it comes to mind-reading!

I was having some issues with the code . . .

    Regards,

    Greg M

Re: TimeStamp VBA code not Working on Office 365

    Hey Greg,

Apologies if my statement wasn't very clear. So, the code I've initially posted apparently not working on my end with my version of Office 365 (version 1908). It is supposed to record a date and time stamp in Column D upon first input within Column A-C range, then also record a date and time the cells were updated or upon last input on the same row.

Now, out of curiosity, I tried it with other PC and is working fine - the code does what it has to perform - recording timestamp. Which leads me to question, what's with my version of excel that prohibits the macro to run..

    Administrative Note:

We would very much like to help you with your query, however you need to include code tags around your code.

Please take a moment to add the tags. Posting code between [CODE]Please [url=https://www.excelforum.com/login.php]Login or Register [/url] to view this content.[/CODE] tags makes your code much easier to read and copy for testing, and it also maintains VBA formatting.

Please see Forum Rule #2 about code tags and adjust accordingly. Click on Edit to open your post, then highlight your code and click the # icon at the top of your post window. More information about these and other tags can be found here

dy137 with 59 posts as of the last we expect you to be familiar with forum rules regarding VBA code tags when posting.

(Note: this change is not optional. No help to be offered until this moderation request has been fulfilled.)

Re: TimeStamp VBA code not Working on Office 365

    Hi again,

Ok, now I know (as I did before) what SHOULD happen. I also know what DOES happen on most PC's including my own.

What I still don't know is what DOESN'T happen on the pc which has the problem.

    In other words . ..

So, the code I've initially posted apparently not working on my end

. . . what does "not working" actually mean?

Sorry if this appears unhelpful, but I'm really struggling to understand what you want us to investigate.

    Regards,

    Greg M

Re: TimeStamp VBA code not Working on Office 365

    Hello Sir,

Apologies if this becomes more complicated to understand and if I wasn’t very clear with the issue I encounter yesterday. Apparently, this isn’t an issue with the code - it is totally working fine. What’s causing it to “not work” on my end yesterday was because of the pop-up block that prohibits the macro to run.

It is now working fine after enabling the macro in my worksheet.

Please consider this resolved and apologies for the hard time.
