    Vlookup by cell background color #VALUE! error

    Hello guys,

    i am using the below Macro (found it on pk-anexcelexpert.com) to lookup value but I am getting #VALUE! error, but when i use this macro on a new sheet it works fine .any help please.

    Can you explain how it should work...!
    In your example, if M5 has the same color than S5 value result is "Bank Holiday" is it ???

    Cell "M5" has Conditional Formatting and cells "S5:T5" are normally/usually/ordinary formatted - therefore the function does not work.

    I am planning to implement this with the Annual leave spreadsheet . Using the conditional formatting the leave date will be highlighted with a specific colour.

    For conditional formatting in the "r1" range and normal formatting in the "cel" range, the following code:
