Sending Excel Macro Workbook over Email

    Hi Guys,

I've put together an Excel workbook with a Userform, command button and some Macros.

Essentially when the user pressed the command button it opens the Userform for they can enter data to the worksheet.

Thing is, I'm trying to send it over email as a .xlsm and the email security system blocks it because it's a "forbidden file type".

When I send it as a .xlsx the userform doesn't get sent along with it. The Userform has all the Macros in it, so without it the sheet is useless.

    Help?

Is there a way I can ensure the userform gets sent as well?

This protection is specific to your email system. I assume it is your employer's system. Files with macros can be malicious, so some systems may block them. I can suggest two options but am concerned about giving you advice to circumvent your security policies. This does not explicitly break our rules but is a bit of a gray area.

One suggestion is to save that file as type .xlsb. This can be used just like a .xlsm file. Another is to zip the file and send the ZIP file.

I would also pose this question to your mail system administrator to see what your policies are.

    Ah! You're a saint!

    Thank you!

Yea, the administrator said he didn't know why it's suddenly not sending. He tried to fix the issue but couldn't.
