Allow Table to Expand on Protected Sheet

    Hi,

Can the table on the Transactions sheet be allowed to add new rows when the sheet is protected?

I have shapes to protect and unprotect on the 'Holidays and Events' sheet.

Thank you for any help or suggestions.

Manually protect the sheet and check "Insert rows". Then it will stay checked when your code protects and unprotects it. But you also have headers turned off and all cells locked, so I don't know how the user can enter data for a new row, much less insert one.

That was my question to be able to add rows.

Thanks I guess that is the best help you can offer.

    Have a nice day!

Alternative you could do you what your already doing with your unhide opening balances.

Add a button to the Transactions page with macro to unlock the worksheet add a row, and relock it.

Okay thanks but this doesn't seem like a good solution.

Why can't Excel allow table expansion so the formulas could be protected?

I suppose I could expand the table down 1000 rows and protect the columns with formulas to allow for data entry.
